My Crafty List

Does anyone else need some direction with which project to start next? I'm terribly distracted when it comes to crafting. Here I'm attempting to hold myself accountable to accomplishing at least some of my goals. As I complete items, I'll tell you about them - the disasters and successes.

Rice Animal - Baby A likes to sleep cuddled up with something warm. A rice heat pack does the trick. She's been using mine for a couple weeks, but I'd like to make one just for her that looks like a stuffed animal or doll. - Check this one off. You can see "Hootie" here

Paint the bathroom - Tim's comment when he saw the bathroom, 'That's really purple!" He's not kidding. I found a gallon of muted apple green for $5 at the Habitat ReStore. Now that I'm not pregnant, I can think about painting. Problem is, when are we not using the bathroom long enough for me to paint?!

Upholster the guest room headboard - We were given a bed with a faux Asian theme. I love the price, not the headboard. Time to find some fabric and cover that sucker.

Knit a cowl and fingerless socks for me - I haven't made anything for myself since I was in labor with G (it might seem like an odd time to knit, but it passed the time, 29 hours worth). Basically, my chest and hands are cold when I carry A around in the baby carrier. Already have the yarn. Must quit getting distracted.

Knit 3 shrugs - My mom spun some gorgeous yarn this fall, and I confiscated it on my last trip to K'town. I already know where it's all going; I just need to start knitting.

Felt Food - G received a kitchen set for her birthday. It came with a few items, but I'd love to fill her fridge with felt fruits and veggies as seen on ohdeedoh.

Toe-up Socks - My mom gave me some beautiful yarn. Now I just need a pattern. Off to Ravelry. Done and done - what! Knitting socks was more fun than I might have imagined. DH gave me more yarn for Christmas, so eventually I'll tackle another pair.

Plush Fabric Balls - I saw these on Etsy and made some for friends, but haven't made any for G. Kinda lame.

Reusable Shopping Bags - I'm using old plastic shopping bags, turning them into plarn and crocheting some reusable bags. For those of your asking why not buy the $.99 variety... I don't know. This seemed so ironic and cool. In my third trimester exhaustion/moving purge, I threw out the plarn and bought the $.99 variety. Haven't looked back.

Kimono Top and Shorts for G.

Cloth napkins and place mats - so glad you said something Courtney. I would love to dabble with sprucing up my place settings. I made silk place mats for Courtney's sister.

G's Fishtank
Terrarium - actually, a small set of three that I want to either hang or place in my kitchen window. Funny story - Bought all the plants and set up a 40 gallon aquarium as a paludarium (1/2 terrarium, 1/2 aquarium) after making a shelf for the plants to sit on out of Quikrete. Turns out, Quikrete leeches lime into the water making the pH rise. Our first round of fish suffered an accidental, inhumane death. We realized what was happening and yanked the backdrop and plants. Now it's a regular aquarium that G loves to look at. Hmm, that wasn't a very "funny" story.

Bird Mobile - Tim didn't love it for the baby's room, but I think it's so cool that I can't pass it up.

Owl Pillows - Have you ever seen anything so cute?!

Alphabet Block Set - Love homemade baby toys. I also saw a set with family members' pictures and names. I might use that as well.

That's enough for now, especially when I start trying to come up with presents for people:
Oh yeah, that reminds me, gifts. I have a jacket and 3 sets of play silks to make.
